The only thing which could be “worrying” are these realistic controls. They might be overwhelming to start with especially if you’ve played only arcade flight simulators. However once you familiarize yourself with the setup the game is pure pleasure.

Pro Flight Simulator Review

Let’s have a look at some Pro Flight Simulator’s features.

Realism. As I mentioned above this sim offers realistic world scenery. From planes, buildings, weather to flight controls – simply everything has been created to reflect real life flight experience as accurately as possible.
Synchronized Time. That is one of my favorites features. The game time synchronized with your computer’s system time. So if you live in Chicago and start the game at 10 PM it is also night in the sim. But that’s not the end. Pro Flight Simulator also maps the position of the Sun, Moon, planets and it even adjusts weather patterns to your location. How awesome is that?
Variety. There are thousands of airports with correct runway marking, placement and approach lightning. They included even aircraft carriers. Hundreds of aircraft to choose from which include helicopters, gliders and even zeppelin. Not mentioning a variety of more conventional planes from gliders, WWII planes, military jet fighters to A320.

Accurate Mapping. Not only airports are accurate to their real life originals but also noticeable buildings, structures and landmarks are there.

Although that sounds great my review wouldn’t be complete without considering cons.

There are a couple of cons that I experienced during in Pro Slight Simulator.

Because the sim is ordered online you would have to download it on your computer and it might take some time to download the whole program. It’s the case especially if you have slow internet connection.

However there is an alternative if you do not have an access to high speed internet connection. Once you purchase the sim in membership area you can upgrade your order to DVD copy of Pro Flight Simulator. Unfortunately you would have to pay extra for that and it might take some time before it is delivered.

I mentioned it before and I’m not sure if it is a real con. It is the realism. The controls and the flight experience are so realistic that it might be confusing at the beginning. It took me good few flight hours to get used to all the settings and controls. And it was just Cessna. I cannot wait to try something bigger now. But once I experienced side wind and blinding morning sun during a takeoff I was hooked on.

The overall experience is superb in my opinion. Not only a realistic “behavior” of the plane in different weather but also the fact I traveled the entire world in just a few hours without leaving my room. With the add-on installed you can go everywhere you want; Paris, Grand Canyon, Sydney – you name it.
